Hello sweet friends – I know it’s been awhile since I have posted. Life has been busy with trying to update the website, family life and dealing with a tragedy that’s rocked our family to the core.
It happens. Tragedy happens. but it happens everywhere else. Now it happened to my family.
******************
Life is so short.
Things can change in a moment’s notice.
Without notice.
Recently, my family has experienced one of the most tragic losses.
On the morning of July 19, 2018, my brother and his son, Kelby were in a horrific vehicle accident.
Kelby was my 15 year-old nephew. My brother’s youngest son, is gone forever.
Kelby comes from a long line of volunteer firefighters. My brother Billy Jo and my other nephew Kurt, are both volunteer firefighters. It’s in their blood and the community is so grateful for their service.
Kelby’s funeral was one I will remember forever. Not just because I had the painstaking task of saying goodbye to my nephew BUT because it was one of the most beautiful services I have ever witnessed. Kelby received a real firefighters funeral.
Firefighters from all around the area, across Texas came to pay tribute.
Out of this tragic event, there is a blessing. Many blessings.
My brother, Billy Jo’s life was spared. He’s still here on this earth. I am forever grateful and thank God everyday for sparing his life.
I could have lost 2 family members that day on July 19, 2018, but God chose to call his child, Kelby home to heaven.
A piece of our hearts will never be the same.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
We’re left only with the wonderful memories of family get togethers, cousins pickin’ on each other, and the smiles.
One of the things we liked to do was take pictures of the grand kids with nanny and popo. I’m so glad that we had this tradition and will continue to in the future.
We will be missing one very important member that our photos will never be complete.
If you’ve gotten this far, thank you for reading. Thank you for keeping our family in your prayers as we begin the healing part. Our family will never be the same, there will always be a piece missing. Through our faith we know that one day we will be reunited again.
Much love,
Tracy
