So here I am ~ learning, watching, preparing, and trusting.

I share this to mark my journey. 💔❤️🩹

This weekend I’ve done my best to be as prepared as I can be. 🥶 I’m watching the weather apps like I never had to before. This is something I never had to do in my entire life.

The boys have been an absolute blessing. Since Spencer lives with me, he has really stepped up and filled so many of the spaces his dad used to cover — taking on so many of the tasks around the house.

Having a husband who was a maintenance man and a jack-of-all-trades was a safety net I didn’t even realize was there… until it wasn’t.

I never really took the time to learn these things because he always took care of them. But as I look back over the past couple of years, I can see little signs that are helping me know what to do today.

Like last winter, when Ricky said the heater on the well pump had worn out — or in his words, it had “roar’d out” — so we had to buy a new one. At the time, I didn’t even know that’s what he used the heater for… but now I do.

That safety net vanished the day God said, “Well done, good and faithful servant… it’s time.” 🕊️🌿

So here I am ~ learning, watching, preparing, and trusting.

I trust that all is well. God will take care of us, and we will come through this storm just like He promises. 🙏🤍
