THIS is the stuff that SUCKs about being a new Widow!

This is just to share my Journey.... 💔❤️🩹 I sure do miss my maintenance man!
THIS is the stuff that really sucks about being a widow.
We have just a couple of manual clocks in our home that still needs the time changed — and guess who always handled that? Yep, Ricky. 🕊️ He always made sure every clock in the house was right on time.
This one hangs a little high, so I asked our son to change it... but of course, he “forgot.”

I only ever look at that clock when I’m working in the kitchen — it’s just habit. So today, I’m in there getting things done, trying to be ready to head to my mom’s by 2:00 p.m. I glance up and think, “Girl, you better get a move on.”
Then I walk into the living room, glance at our grandfather clock (the one I did change), and realize... I just gained a whole hour.
And I didn’t know whether to cry or be grateful for the extra time.
After my little widow meltdown, I took a deep breath and told myself, “Okay... I’ve got an extra hour. No need to rush. Thank you Lord for the extra time!"
THIS is the stuff that truly sucks. When you once had a partner who handled certain things without you even having to think about it — and now, it’s all on you. My boys help when they can, and I’m so grateful for them, but they have their own lives and families too. It’s just... different.
Yes, I’ll get the ladder and change that kitchen clock.
Love you forever, my maintenance man! 🕊️
