Today I am sharing a sure fire way to create a gift for the hard to buy for person in your life.
My super sweet father-in-law is not the easiest person to buy a gift for and when we asked him what he wanted for his birthday his answer was “just a happy birthday”. Well, I gave him just that….with a little cash attached. 🙂 I love it and so did he!
Perfect gift for the “hard to by for guy”
This project can be easily altered into just about any celebration…..ones like….. graduations, baby gifts, promotions, job well done or just because.
Sometimes its easier for me to give a gift of cold hard cash rather than scouring the stores looking for something that isn’t the right thing. It’s what works for me!
Supplies
- kraft cardstock
- scrapbook paper in burlap pattern
- 3″ scallop punch
- 3″ circle punch
- brown marker
- white gel pen
- distress ink “vintage photo”
- jute string
- fabric or ribbon scraps
- letters cut 1.25″ cut from Alphalicious Cricut cartridge
- mini clothespins
Simple enough right? 🙂
Here is a video tutorial I put together…..watch below or click here to watch on YouTube. Please subscribe to my channel.

What a cute idea! My kids would have loved coming home from school on the birthdays and see that hanging up. Too bad they are all grown and gone. I’ll have to remember this for Christmas when they are home!

Oh how I wish I had seen this before all the 21st birthdays in our family. But my mind is thinking on for other events. Loved it.
Dropping in from “Busy Monday Linky” and I’m pinning this for later.
