Happy day after Thanksgiving 2014.
I wanted to share my Thanksgiving table decor with you again this year. It is becoming a tradition I guess, as I shared it with you in 2012 here and 2013 here. It also helps me look back on what I did the previous year(s) and provides a bit of inspiration and reminiscing.
My decor is nothing fancy. As you may notice from other years I pull in some of the same items I have in my collection – I just arrangement them differently and find what works for me at that time. It’s my way of decorating and makes me happy. Each year I do seem to add a couple of new items and I’ll point those out in the pictures below. 🙂
One new item I added to my collection this year is this cute turkey table runner. I picked it up at a local craft show this year and fell in love with it the moment I saw it. It is reversible with a striped pattern of fall colors on the flip side so I can use it all during the fall season. The checkered table cloth I bought at Wal-Mart years ago. It is a Better Homes and Garden brand they carry.
For the center of my table I included this cedar wood box that my father in law created. It is a cedar log that he hollowed out making a bowl that is perfect for home decorating. I filled it with many fall things including an old wooden spindle, flameless candles, pip berries, fall leaves, faux fruit and flowers. I stick and arrange until I like the look.
I picked up these flame less candles at Hobby Lobby. They are battery operated and flicker if I want them too. Each has a little button on the bottom of the candle to turn on and off so I can have them on during dinner and off when not in use. Great alternative to burning candles which I got away from when my youngest was little because you know “boys will be boys” 😉
The middle burlap pumpkin is from a project I shared before here. The grungy pumpkins I bought off of ebay. There is a set of 6 that are stitched with different fall sayings. They are perfect to include in little bowls, table decor, decorating pots, wreaths and etc. Sometimes these types of primitive country items can be found as bowl fillers. Just do a google search for “primitive country bowl fillers” and I’m sure you’ll find something you will love. I love including them in my fall decorating. You can see what I did in 2013 in the picture here.
My sweet sister found that burlap pumpkin for me for a little shop along her way. The old crock pitcher is filled with burlap sunflowers and some other little fabric sunflowers I’ve had for many years. I love to rearrange, stick items and come up with different looks with the stuff I have.
A yummy Apple Taffy pie with chocolate caramel topping and chocolate brownie cookies with marshmallows was on the dessert table.
This is my favorite ceramic turkey my mother in law gave to me many years ago. I always have to find a place to display him in my decor every year. I decorate mostly with silk flowers (because I can’t keep the real ones alive) so I filled a glass milk bottle with glass beads and stuck a few stems of fall silks inside. Works for me! The chevron blue table runner is from Pick Your Plum.
Well, there you have my Thanksgiving decor for 2014. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my decor this year.

Have a great day my friends! 🙂

Great decorating ideas. I just didn’t have the time to arrange like I wanted. I collect old vintage ceramic turkeys. Next year I’ll add in some burlap too

The old vintage ceramic turkeys sound wonderful. Burlap just adds that touch of rustic country charm that I love so much. Thanks for stopping by Maureen. 🙂
